Forum Update Incoming (and yes… we're passing the hat again 😄)

It’s that time again where the forum needs an oil change and a new set of brake discs, and I’m starting a new project thread to add some new features, alongside bug fixes and those all-important security patches (because nobody likes surprise advisories at MOT time).

We're also planning a bit of a facelift if time allows - shiny new logo is ready, and I’ll be giving things a polish so we look nice and fresh.

Now… the awkward bit.

Like previous updates of this size, we're turning to the community to help chip in towards the cost. Totally optional, no pressure - just putting the hat out there in case anyone feels like helping keep the lights on (and the hamsters powering the server well-fed).

We’re looking at around £300+ in licences and £250 for the guy who carries the work out (we’ve used him the last 3 sets of upgrades).

As always, whether you donate or just stick around causing chaos in the threads - both are appreciated 😄

Cheers everyone 🍻

Thanks for the donations so far, I’m away till middle of next week so I’ll pick up on this then. Should be able to start buying the licenses then get a date in Matt’s diary to carry out the upgrade.

Much love for the support so far ❤️

I've reduced the donation target as the licenses have come in cheaper than I'd predicted and have have now been ordered and paid for.

The planning is progressing in the background nicely, should be able to announce a date for downtime soon. Due to the speed things are progressing we will be doing the visual refresh after the upgrade - my fault for having a holiday!

Thanks all,

The Admin Team

Thank you all so much for your generosity - the target has been reached!

The licenses have been bought and our forum tech guy has got everything prepped and tested, so we are moving to implementation phase next.

I'll post up a note with a warning on when it will happen and there will be some limited downtime. Any questions on changes/new functionality and any issues (which there shouldn't be) can then be posted in that thread so we respond.

Thanks again, more news soon!
