Received grommet and awaiting the aerial to be delivered today.
I removed the grommet but by the looks of things something is missing as I can just see what looks like a cut wire.
Can anyone advise and maybe share a pic of what I need?

Looks like the top of the aerial has been snapped off

Depending on model and year some have the washer fluid bottle there and some have the smog pump and in some cases like yours some people having nothing.

Perfectly normal :)

A secondhand aerial unit is going to cost about £60.

Another expensive commodity like the clear headlamps. Everyone wants them for the same reason you are experiencing.

Cheers for the info.
I'm assuming when my stubby aerial arrives that I won't be able to fit it as the part is broken. I don't really need it to work as I don't listen to the radio (it actually was working for some stations without an aerial) I just want to fit the stubby to make it look complete.

Yeah I've fitted the grommet...should have removed the perished one before I ordered a new grommet and aerial. Would have just gone down the deleted aerial cap route mentioned by hard top.
Now I've got the grommet and aerial I may as well get the part needed to finish the job properly.
