I was ordering a new DISA to do a refresh on my intake manifold when I go in to do the hard coolant pipes and found some posts on people swapping to the m54b30 manifold.

I have a b30 manifold that already has a new DISA, gaskets, ccv piping that came off a car that got an M50 manifold.

Can I really just bolt this manifold on and get a throttle body adapter? It would be great to save a few bucks on another DISA and get some extra flow

You dont need a different ecu you just need to get the tuning altered on the current ecu to get max performance out of the conversion.

The best easy swap for the tub2.8 is the m54 3.0 intake, manifold and intake cam plus a tweak to the tune although depending on circumstance you may not need this. The tub2.8 is restricted to about 67hp per litre . The norm for the m54 range is about 75hp p litre. Adding the 3.0 intake manifold and intake cam puts the 2.8 at about 75hp p litre which puts you at about 210hp.

I actually went a bit further and went cat cam sport cams and it was a waste of money. I have a brand new 3.0 intake cam sitting around.
