I need to replace the aftermarket exhaust currently fitted to my Z3.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places in or near to Leeds? I just want it returning to a OEM type look and sound.

Thanks,

Go to a muffler shop, preferably one that does performance work. There are many aftermarket mufflers available from various performance companies and muffler shops that carry these items. Look for Magnaflow as a leading brand.

Sorry I should've explained - The car has failed its MOT on emissions and the garage has said the exhaust is blowing and not right. I don't like the sound any way so its an opportunity to put it back to OEM sound and also fix any leaks etc.

Just wondering if anyone knows somebody to speak to in Leeds.

Thanks,

weather hot rod or original, in the USA we would have gone to a muffler shop.

Depends on your motor's engine size. For the 4 cylinder I believe there are pattern systems available off the shelf. If it's a 6 cylinder it will mean a trip to a stainless exhaust maker or seek out a second hand system.

A genuine BMW system is worth pricing up - should be around £600 but they last 20 years and will bolt straight on.

If you failed the MOT on emissions it may well be the cat, especially if a non oem one is fitted.

Took it to Tony Banks in Leeds and he did it whilst I waited! New CAT and cat back system, and then passed the MOT. Happy Days.

New system is a lot quieter and I wanted it doing anyway so its a result
