What model do I have

Sorry to sound stupid guys but I keep seeing all the E numbers and M numbers flying around when looking for parts, just to give and example I have just been looking for angel eyes and they where for "E36/4" what does that mean, I have a 1999 2L wide body, thanks in advance,

Z3 are E36/7. The E36 is the 3 Series and E36/5 is the 3series compact.
