You should be able to source them from any good hardware store, T40 Torx, if my memory serves me right.

Thread length is around 35mm if I recall correctly. Mine are Allen heads though not Torx as my fitting kit is the aftermarket one. Think they are 5.5mm size Allen key. I will measure one tomorrow.

Looking at realoem they are an M8X18 Torx bolt, but beware they have a countersunk head with a rubber o-ring around them which may act as a seal and also keep them captive when the hardtop is removed. It is probably best seeing if you can pick one up from the dealers, part number is 54218410534. Not a very good photo but they are about 32-35mm in length.

I got this measurement from the BMW site: M8 x 1.25 x 22.35 if someone in the know can translate it for us please!! But stupidly didn't get the part number! JIM
