Hi guys changed and installed new meyle hd front wishbones , lollipop bushings , inner and outer track rods ends , and drop links , but
As car is either jacked up or on the floor I have loads of movement between 3 pm and 9 pm side to side it also seems to move the strut and spring at the same time , even with car planted on the ground it still wiggles left to right when holding wheel at 3pm to 9 pm and makes an audible judder , driver side does it’s minimal if at all but passenger side has an inch or two of play any ideas to what it could be ?

Check there's a washer between the top mount and upper spring plate. That top bearing should turn free.

Hii Lee , so how would I acces that? So when I’m looking at the strut from under the car the strut along with spring seem to move
Left and right and the whole assembly makes a judder

Can you tell if its one side or both sides, hard to pin point from your explanation. Get your eyes on the mount on the top while someone turns the steering

Was it doing it before ?

Hi will try check tomorrow it’s just confusing as unless one done track inner or out rod wrong there shouldn’t be much if any movement now I’ve changed all the parts unless the meyle hd wishbone ball
Joint is dodgy as it was a 2nd but un used and not previously fitted set so surely it’s not that , suspension hasn’t been touched so surely should have been like this before hand if so? It’s as if something’s not tightened properly or something’s lose enabling me to move the wheel left and right from 3pm to 9 pm about 3 inches or so either side without taking a video it’s hard to explain but everything’s been changed baring the struts haven’t been touched and now that’s happened

Other thing it could be is the track rods are on the wrong sides, they have a kink in a way that misses the wheel when on near full lock, you could be feeling the wheel hit the track rod ?

After re reading your first post you might not having anything wrong. The strut and spring will move together, the top mount will stay put and pivot. Also with the wheels off the ground it will allow you to move it left n right.

Hmm. Good point I’ll check again morning it’s weird as it does it also now with the car being on the floor not on jacks but doesn’t do it driver side at all hardly

I did think this but I did each track rod end at a time so to avoid putting wrong side on, can videos be uploaded to this forum? If so will take a video tomorrow and show you what I mean as it’s baffling me
