I've rung them and its something to do with anti money laundering. My girlfriend just transferred it through PayPal due to having money in her account, and because it was a larger than normal sum its been held!

Yep, had exactly this with the sites PayPal account. If you process more than 2500 euros they need to make sure you aren't the mafia or a terrorist. Not sure what you do as an individual to get around it, I had to register the site as a company to get the account released.
I did find their help desk team incredibly useful to speak to, but it does take a while on hold to get through.
I have spoken to them this afternoon and they've said that if my girlfriend speaks to them they could release the funds. Fingers crossed and I'll just have to wait and see!
The seller is a decent guy so I'm hoping he'll keep hold of it for me.
Don't like PayPal, use a bank next time, it's far easier.

We had funds held a couple of years back. No warning just held the payment! The fees must be high on that sort of transaction.
Nope No Fees as it was just transferring a balance. I've done a workaround and have managed to withdraw it though!
Take that PayPal, holding my cash so they can gain interest
