I'm new to Z4 ownership having recently bought a 2014 sdrive 28i. Car drives really well, smooth gear changes and all is well however, if I accelerate hard the car really bangs through the gears, never loosing drive but just harsh changing. Any thoughts would be appreciated..

The ZF8HP box should be flawless..check fluid level...change it and then see what gives
