Hard tops are great for everyday left outside they even look nice on.
Problem is if you can pick up roof at reasonable price the fitting kit is almost as much making it very expensive indeed.
Not sure if mine has a fitting kit on it not sure how you can tell.?
I bought a hard top years ago when I had an MX5 went straight on for £250 quid same colour as well.
Modern convertibles don't need a hard top they are just so good and insulated but a Z 3 would benefit if you can afford one.
Must try to check if mine has fitting kit what should I be looking for and where please.

No mate but when peeps have been helping me do stuff more than one has thought it's a had a hard top on at some point. There's some wiring about and I've got the rear demister switch

With the correct tooling making the brackets shouldn't be too difficult. Certainly cheaper than buying a set the electical bits are all sill available from bmw but you could improvise these too.:thumbsup:

Ant, you don't need it, had all the electric gubbins on my car, never used it.
The rear window is just behind your head, cabin heating does it for you.

I had all the switching already fitted so may be its had a roof before. Not sure if it works mind.
Ordered a few cover caps from Bmw all parts where in the U.K which i was surprised about but parts available so all good.

Yes they have covers to cover the whole bracket then a cover that twists to protect the mounting points when the roofs not on:thumbsup:
