Z3 Owners out there, don't want to be making you depressed, but this is a fact.
The insurance people (who you pay a lot of money) do not give a flying fig about your little old car.
Small accident writes them off.
I know because it happened to me.

That is why I stripped mine as well, the insurance people have no idea of the value of a hardtop etc.

Could well have Pete, and if you asked them to throw £300 away they might not want to !

I thought most big breakers, which Pic-Up are, turned cars round quickly. And broke the whole car once they started.

This one has been removed from the stack and put back as it's the other way round now.

If you approached them about buying the interior they would undoubtedly want a small fortune for it, but, obviously they're quite prepared to let it go to ruin. I don't get it:(

That's exactly my thought @ t-tony!! How do these people think or is the business covering for something else like money laundering for example!! JIM

they base it on interest. If you show interest in something it will set a high price, other than that it's worthless to them.
That way they are letting the customer determine the value and they dont have to research.

I am sure it is the same with private registration plate sellers. If you ask them how much a certain plate is worth, that was available cheaply on the DVLA site and you were not aware, they will then buy it from the DVLA and hike the price so you have to get it off them if you want it.

Although they answered my initial email on whether the car was available for salvage they never responded to my request for prices for all the interesting parts including the seats. So at least one person enquired and they still didn't care...
