Yep did mine a few years back. Unscrew the gear knob. Gently squeeze the gaiter at the bottom to work one edge out and it'll just slide over the top of the gear stick. It's just situated with a few plastic clips attached to the gaiter. It's a 30 second job, no tools required.

mmmmmmm it's been some time since we had a knob pulling thread. But yes they all come off with a good pull, perhaps a little bit of twisting to start off with but do not unscrew especially if your knob lights up. You'll twist the wires round and round the gearstick.
Once that's off it's an easy job to remove the gaiter as @Grumpy says. 30 second job.

This takes me back to an old Two Ronnies sketch "........... the Lone Ranger disguised himself a door, then Tonto rushed in and pulled his knob off ........" =))

Just pulled the gearstick knob off this afternoon, it was easy this time, BUT cant see how the gaiter comes out, and then once it out cant be easy to feed back in ? or does the plastic cover all round lift off ?
Grumpy you said that once knob was off it was easy, what am I missing ?

Just pinch it at the corners Geoff. Should come straight off.

Just squeeze the sides at the base inwards, there are little plastic 'tangs' that hook under the console top .

They look like a "u" on its side so as you pinch it they just slide from the underside. It really is very easy. No tools required.

The gaiter is mounted on to a plastic square it just has locating lugs that clip in to the console squeezing the gaiter from the sides just pops the lugs as said easier than it sounds....Good luck...
