May sound daft, but buy her an estate car. Old folk and families drive estates, so they drive carefully, which means less accidents.
My oldest lad's been driving a 323 Touring since he was 19. Insurance on his own was £850, zero no claims. Quote for him to drive my 1.3 Justy was £1100.
My youngest now drives a 2.2 X type estate, was looking at 320d E46 Touring, but the Jaaaag has a better boot for his guitar gear.
