Any one ever fitted a totally different after market seats in Z3 that fit on the cars sub frame that are comfortable I’m getting to the point of looking at that option or finding a good reupholstering company. Just wonder which is going to be best option as the proper seats I’ve seen so far either are very expensive or have similar problems to mine.
My passenger seat the leather has gone like hardboard and stiff where I think previous owner must have left roof down and soaked it and it’s gone like this.
Drivers seat usual problem side bolsters have gone soft and the one in seat back is beginning to crumble and the stitching on the seat swab has gone not a tear just pulled apart. As crazy as it sounds it looks like the seats have been painted black at some point.

Cheapest option is to buy a good pair of second hand standard seats. Sports seats are silly money but you can still pick up a pair of standard seats at reasonable price.

If you have access to a workshop, have a decent set of tools, including welding gear, you can make any seat fit the Zed bases.

Reupholstering can be expensive unless you know someone in the trade.

Yes agree sports seats can be crazy money for good ones. I have been given the name of an auto upholster in Andover May get a price and work from there. Thanks for reply.
