It'll be a few years yet before our Zeds are worth anything other than what we buy them for. They may hold their price but I can't really see them appreciating in value simply because there are so many around

Luckily, I have a very rare Z2 2.8, so it is worth keeping.
I'll nick a badge off an Audi and rebadge mine as a Z5, that'll increase its value!

The 3.0 Models have gone up in price by around 2k in the last year. You could pick one up last year for around 5k now they are fetching around 7 to 8k. Wish i had kept mine now
I don't care if my 2.8 is worth £2 or £10000. It's about owning and enjoying the car for me. If you want to make money buy houses! I wish I had when I had the chance.
Agree Dave, we bought our Zed to enjoy driving not as an investment. We've spent far more on her than she is worth but that's ok. Also it's amazing how many new friends we've got as a result of the Zed and .org of courseI don't care if my 2.8 is worth £2 or £10000. It's about owning and enjoying the car for me. I think it's about getting the balance right on how much the cars worth and how much to spend on it sure if its an M maybe worth restoring to as new if that's your thing.
My car cost me £2,400 rust free painwork good full service history regular now 75 k miles perfect roof interior ect. Still spent a little on it couple of hundred or so try not to keep count mostly consumables or age related broken bits.
It's 19 years old this year it won't drive like a new car but drives well enough.
Yes I could replace ageing parts but if it ain't broke why bother more economical to fix as things need to be done.
It's what gives a older classic car character as long as its safe drives well enough makes it fun
As its a third car I personally could not justify spending thousands and thousands restoring to as new.
I am very lucky my cars pretty mint for a 97 been well loved .
Just do work as needed hopefully not much drive and enjoy its a classic.

Thanks everyone,very interesting and worth asking I think.I tend to agree much with Tracy Dee as I paid much more for a 44,000 mile car in top condition,its value to me is in enjoying owning and using it as a third car and to be kept as long as I can (65 now)in as good a condition as it is now.Value isn't really important but would be gutted if the head gasket/overheating or emissions problems made me think about the cost of repair
They don't die unless some one crashes it and totals it for you.
I had an M44 16 valve Oct 96 for six years, never anything went wrong with it, every MOT was a breeze and it had 190,000 plus KM on it. These cars are bullet proof and only need a simple service once a year, cost peanuts.
Oh, and it was my daily driver, all year.
Apart from one fault, your convertible top never seemed to work?
