Just went out looked at mine I see what's happened the stitching that holds the roof to the frame coming apart. That could be quite difficult to do a proper repair without expert help. Might end up second hand or replacement roof. Hopefully someone else will come along with a great fix or just confirm what I'm thinking.

Thinking about going to http://www.softtops.org.uk/index.htm in Coventry to see what they say.

Just looked at the link yeah definitely worth an ask get a cost reckon restitching probably only thing that would be durable enough to hold when you put roof up and it all pulls tight. Someone like @spurs fan in a coupe or @Synclare might be able to help with a second hand roof.

Think Soft tops will repair that he will remove the roof and restitch a repair over it to re attach it .
I may be wrong but he removes roofs to stitch in windows this not as big a job in my eyes its just weather its cheaper to go with the replacement roof....

Your also missing a plastic cover that sits in there. I would get it re-stitched because the roof guttering is just below it and drains to the floor.

Functions yes, aesthetically looks naff.

I had mine done at Cov. Surprisingly he didn't take my roof off and I required some stitching in the corners.
Took him 3 hours, He must have been in and out the car like the Hokey Pokey.....=))

Looks like you are missing a few covers as well, item 26 below: -

Folding top mounting parts - BMW parts catalog

I think soft tops Croydon will put a complete new hood on for c£300 - £350

Brian is that an all in price? Or just hood?
I pretty sure £300 - £350 is an all in price for a new hood fitted, this uses your old frame though. a few members on here have had this done and his work is excellent by all accounts.
