hello
so ive striped down the interior panel to replace a broken quarter window, and I found this gadget in the door well, unplugged.
can anybody tell me what this is, it was in the passenger side.
ive done the drivers door few days earlier and I don’t see this anywhere.
i can’t see the part number to google it.

Its the electric actuator for the door locks.

If your locks work fine someone probably dropped it when replacing it at some point as it clips to the key mechanism.

Well I’ve always had to open that door from the inside,
i don’t have central locking.
should the passenger side open even if I unlock with the key on drivers side?

is that what it’s for?

I have central locking , when the passenger door started playing up by not unlocking on the key or fob I first checked the loom of doom in the boot but all ok so changed the actuator which is what you have found and all ok again ,

It is for the central locking. I'm not sure how it operates with a key as I never use mine.
