What have you bought for your Zed this week?

Some Halfords items, all free as had a few confused.com rewards and £5 off. Missing a laser magnet and claw, which they couldnt find-so have been in touch with customer service as their refund is less and an evoucher

But isn't it strange that no matter how many screwdriver sets you buy you just can't find the right one when when you want one. When you're looking for a Philips you seem to have a drawer full of flats. and when looking for a flat you, mysteriously, have a drawer full of pozidrivs.

Or is that just me:banghead:

I've had that screwdriver set for a while, it's all I've ever needed!

My last tool set is still at my sons- its sort of emigrated I think, may have multiplied but definitely not aged well. This looked decent

Really do appreciate the feedback and yeah I go agreed about having something to just finish the front off ...
Ok so took the plunge and ordered the spoiler from ML Performance in Staines … 2-3 week wait and will need colour matching …
Just in case someone else wants to try link is here https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/products/rieger-bmw-e36-front-spoiler-lip-z3
If you have a 1.9 and want that one just email them and they’ll probably add it to their site which is what they did for me. More expensive that ordering directly from the continent but then again after VAT and the hassle of having to pay a handling charge for the courier it’s about the same. Just this way I get a UK supplier if things go wrong.

Hardtop - Yes it's the wrong colour but very Italian .... respray being worked on ...

Is that Boston Green? Mine too.

I sprayed mine with rattle cans. From some angles it looks OK. Especially in the shade.

But from other angles it's a totally different shade of green (See my profile picture)

Aircon repaired and recharged on the Z3M - this involved new Condenser, New Dryer, New Seals and the regas.
If it's not a rude question, how much did this cost please? My E36 convertible needs the same; would be interested in a benchmark number.

I wouldnt mind a guide also. Im thinking of sorting the seals in first instance, but good to know the damage if that doesnt resolve it.

How are you going to change any seals if there is still gas in the system. Handling the gas can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. No offence if you do know what you’re doing.
most people do not realise this gas has a very low boiling point and if you get it on your skin your body temperature will make it boil giving very nasty burns.

Tony.

ps. I was trained to do this safely at work before retiring.

Yes @t-tony I will be arranging for the gasses to be fully discharged professionally prior to any work on it. Then will see if we can sort at Zedshed cymru with @colb. I have other priorities first so this is a do when able

Two things for the Z (and the oil burner) this week. Some rubber seal renovator in the style of Gummi Pfledge and some spray grease for the mechanical bits. I used to use Wurths spray grease and it is a great product, this is very similar, a penetrative spray grease. I rate Wurth products very highly.

just over £700 for all the OEM parts, strip out, refit, check and recharge. also, the M condenser is slightly different to the rest of the Z range

I got some for my E89 last year from Sopers around £63 IIRC.
