Not good.....I thought that cat is for life time. Of course life time doesn't have the same meaning in automotive, it's just 100.000 miles. Nobody expected in 1996 that some cars , Zed e.g., will become a collectible and will reach hundreds of thousands...

the cat started to break up at 120k but that was a genuine replacement cat that had been on for 8 years.

Yes, this is a tribute we have to pay if we want to make the Zed an historical car; we always will be afraid of a computer (there are four on the car!) or cat failure...comparing to the cars on '80s: no electronic, no cat. Just electrical wires and mechanical parts.

Very true Dan, but even these old cars are dinosaurs compared to modern day hi-tec machines.:)

In case of breakdown, don't take the car to a mechanic, use a neurosurgeon. They are the only ones trained to operate on modern cars.
