:welcome:Great looking car mate :drinks:

:welcome: from Warwickshire.

Wow - A lovely car and first forum member from Russia.

And 10.5Js! That's some tyre to fit. Not heard of anyone fitting 10.5Js before. Can't be much space left under there!

Tyres on rear are 235-40-17 little stretch but with out extreme;)

Before I used 25mm spacers they were too deep
Thats all becouse of et56- too deep et for widebody z3
See picture- rear w/o spacers

But really there is a lot of space inside. Even w/o spacers 10,5j did not touch any susp elements

My z3m mirror disassembly / assembly solution

A was luckky to buy z3m side mirrors. To make ideal paint work i had to disassembly them.
The difference between non M z3 side mirrors is that the M mirrors have solid body, and it is impossible to separate the body from base with out saperating the inner pillar from base... Sorry for the grammar, I'm from Russia, but I hope everything is clear;)))

The pillar is connected to the base by sleeve whith spring which is locked by washer from the other side. And it is almost imposible to disconect the washer and not to destroy it.

So i decided to cut it;)

So now we got separate parts. Body and base can be painted.

But how can we assemble the mirror??
I asked turner to create a thread on the sleeve and to create the nut.

And some spare parts were created;))

Next step is to assemble all parts.

Hope this trick will be useful;)

It can help to refurb corroded non M side mirrors too

The are minor problems on the side skirts but I will repaint them next month;)
I live in Saint-Petersburg, it is always rainy here:( but my Z3 was repainted well and after 4-5 years does not have problems;)
I have been in St. Petersburg four times in the past. I used to work on a cruise ship and we stopped there. Used to go drinking at a bar along a canal called the seamans club or merchants seamans club, I can't remember exactly as it was 20 years ago. .............Frankie

20 years ago I was only 10 and i do not remember a lot of details, but I know that now St.Petersburg is much more cleaner then it was at 90s;)
