The outer grommet on mine has all but rotted away, so I need a replacement.

My local main dealer is 35-40 miles away in a direction I rarely travel, so to go pick one up is a bit of an excursion, and as I tend to work 5½ days a week, a bit of a pain for a little rubber bung!

Emailed Sopers for one and also a third brake light gasket, I know last of the big spenders, but its all I need. I got no response from parts@soperbmw.co.uk even with a "zroadsters" tag in the email. Are they still our friends?

Anyway, fleeceBay and scAmazon seem the only option but £12.00? is that how much they really are?

Last grommet I bought from the dealer was around £6, sellers on ebay double the price!

I've just bought one for a facelift from the main dealer and it was around £10, possibly £11.

The pre-facelift part is a bit cheaper. About £8.

There are a lot of clowns on ebay who from their prices seem to buy from the main dealer at full price then resell adding their own markup. Sometimes 100% or more. They rely on the perception main dealers are expensive. It's not always true, in fact it's frequently not true.

There's also a lot of people trying to get more money for secondhand parts than a new part from the main dealer! Bonnet latches and washer valves are good examples as they are not expensive from a main dealer.

Got mine from Sopers, agree just give them a call, super to deal with. I needed the complete aerial as someone had snapped mine off in a car park, by the time the forum discount was applied I basically got the two grommets, inner and outer for free. As I said great to deal with.

I emailed them recently and had an email back the next morning. All sorted and part bought with no trouble. If they're not responding to email call them as their prices are really keen.

Ebay ones are a rip off price wise, got mine from a Dealer a couple of years ago, paid about £6.

@smiffy i ended up buying 2 a while back because they are different depending on if yours is pre facelift.
I used the post facelift one but will happily send you one if yours is pre 2000? Just let me know your address and i'll try to find it tonight.

Mine went bad and I started to get water in a rear compartment. I ordered one from the internet and when it arrived, it was the wrong one. Actually, it's still here and I'm looking at it now. I was more diligent when ordering the second time and got the right one. It was a bit fiddly putting it into place but it's in now and works fine................God, I love using that expression for some reason......it was fiddly...learned from you Brits on this forum and now use it regularly...................Frankie
