Hi Everyone

Before I start Merry Christmas to everybody. A couple of questions if I may.

Firstly I have just had two wheels refurbished still cant drive the car properly after 11 years ownership. I have been looking at ways of protecting my wheels due to my lack of ability. I was looking at Rim Ringz or Alloygators has anyone used them or have any experience of them?

Secondly I would like to add cruise control. I think mine is fly by wire but I am not sure how to check. My car was built in June 2000, any advice gratefully received.

Enjoy the break (if you are not working)

Regards

Jim

I have a vague recollection that either @g8jka or @gookah tried the protectors at some stage, can't remember which brand though.

As for cruise control it's worth breaking down the last 7 digits of your Zeds VIN number on http://bmwfans.info. Should be able to find out which it has from that.

Guys

Thanks will unpick my VIN and let you know, I seem to remember a post somewhere that listed the parts required, will try and hunt it down.

In the mean time Ho, Ho, Ho and hope Santa brings you what you wish for.

Morning All

Hope you all had a good Christmas Day. Just checked the VIN and mine is an M52 so assume it is not plug and play, is there another way of fitting cruise control?

Jim

If it has a throttle cable, you should be able to see it under the bonnet attached to the throttle body. You can still fit cruise control, it's just a lot more difficult. If it's fly by wire throttle cruise is a lot easier to fit.

Thanks Mike

Found a thread with the bits on, some in the states will give it some thought as the wired way is as you point out more difficult. I will keep my eye out for parts and maybe start collecting.

Also interested in getting some heated seat elements as I have all the switches and chip for the brain.
