Thanks everyone, the big decision seems to be the oil, so many different views.....it appears 5w40 fully synthetic is the right viscosity but which to go for is a nightmare......Castrol, valvoline, shell, even the cheaper ones.......aaaarrrggghhh....can't decide which to buy......don't want to put the wrong oil in.......
See post #5:thumbsup:

If you buy the correct viscosity there isn't a "wrong" oil.

Tony.

I have used for the last 8 years, the two for one offer when it comes through on Euro car parts.
I use the Triple QX 5w40 fully synthetic. 0n 115,000 and no rattles or smoke.

Opie oils has good prices for liquid frankincense, but is liquid frankincense really any better, or actually needed?

Buyology stocks Unipart branded 5w40 oil at very resonable prices.

That's what mine run on.

When I was in my MOT garage the other day I noticed their oil supplier was Triple QX.

If not already mentioned you are looking for LL-04 on the back which ensures BMW spec is met.

Another vote for 5w40 TripleQX from ECP, mine runs absolutely fine on it and it’s very cost effective
