IMG_20190331_142341 by mnbrennan, on FlickrMoney well spent Martin, makes a superb car even betterJust got the car back and have to say I'm very impressed. Work done:
- Oil & oil filter change
- Diff oil change
- Gearbox oil changed
- Replaced AC belt
- Air filter replaced
- Brakes removed and cleaned down
- ABS sensor repaired
- Fixed a connector to the side light
- Valve clearances checked and changed shims
- Lead down test (OK)
- Compression test (OK)
- Injector duration balanced based on individual cylinder CO readings
As well as a general inspection with things that need to be looked at
I only drove the car back through 30s and 40s, in the wet, so no full pulls but I can already tell that the engine is much smoother. The exhaust used to burble on idle and that is now all gone. Fully recommend having those adjustments done and can't recommend DMWorx (Aylesbury) enough - ask for Russ
Great thread!!!interesting to hear that POR15 has gone from the treatment of choice, to a waste of money.
At one time, every thread I saw, seemed to have someone saying "must use POR15".
Must have been the fashion 12 months ago.
Hammerite, Waxoyl and Kurust is still the way forward,
sod all these new clever chemical named snake oils, made in the house of L'Oreal with Miscella Water, Argan oil and other such nonsense:
after all, only
73% of 57 women agree.
